And the AWARD goes to.....

We had a great time seeing which book nominations "won" at our Writing Awards Celebration!  The winning books will be adorned with a special "ribbon", marking what category it won for.  The student that wrote the award-winning nomination will also have their names written inside the books!  CONGRATULATIONS to all!

Sophia and Nylah dressed up in "fancy" clothes for the celebration!

Mystery Reader - - MRS. CROSS

Penelope knew RIGHT AWAY that our Mystery Reader as going to be her Mom!  Not sure which clue gave it away?  Was it that she enjoys chopping things and helping prep for meals?  Or that she can surf, but not snowboard?  Either way, we really enjoyed having her come and read to our class! THANKS AGAIN!

Mystery Reader Mrs. Small

We were  so happy to have Mrs. Small come and read to us!  One of her "fun facts" was that she was her high school's mascot!  THANKS for coming in!!

States of Matter

The kids really enjoyed the experiments that went along with our Matter unit.  They especially loved EATING all three states of matter when we made the root beer floats!  (I wish I would have gotten some pictures of that!!!)  Here are just a few of the fun activities we did.

Sending some cheer!

We made some gingerbread boys and girls to send to our Florida pen pals last week.  Each one had their own charm and personality... just like the kids in 2L!  We also wrote them letters, sharing our opinions about the books we enjoy reading.  (This is what we have been working on in Writing too!)
As always, we  can't wait to hear back from them!  We are hoping to FACETIME with them soon!

Mystery Reader #5

THANK YOU Mrs. Manlin for coming in and reading to our class last Friday!  The kids loved hearing about some of your family's Hanukkah traditions too!

Mystery Reader #4

We were so excited to have Mrs. Gibli stop by on Friday and read a Dr. Seuss classic to the kids!  One of her clues was she could count to 10 in 4 languages, and the kids were VERY excited to hear her do this in person!  If you would like to be a Mystery Reader, just send me 4 clues about yourself, and some times that work best for you....we can make it work!  Thanks again Mrs. Gibli!
