SNAKES!

We had a visit this week from a Middle School teacher and some of his students.  They usually come and teach the kids about snakes at our Science Carnival in the Fall, but were not able to make it this year.  EVERY STUDENT in our class held and touched the 4 snakes!  I even held one too!!
 What a fun morning!

Meeting a REAL scientist!

Today our class got to have a Skype interview with a REAL scientist.... my older brother Chad.  He is a marine biologist in Hawaii and is currently having breakthroughs with his research on the farming of fish!  I don't want to bore you with all of his accomplishments..... the MAIN reason we spoke with him is because he ACTUALLY USES lab reports (what we have been learning about in writing the past few weeks) on a DAILY basis!  Make sure to ask your child about the conversation
we had with him today!!!
We also invited 2J in to talk w/ Dr. Callan (so Ari could hear his Uncle talk about his work).

The kids had a chance to introduce themselves and ask Dr. Callan a question about his work.

And the AWARD goes to.....

We had a great time seeing which book nominations "won" at our Writing Awards Celebration!  The winning books will be adorned with a special "ribbon", marking what category it won for.  The student that wrote the award-winning nomination will also have their names written inside the books!  CONGRATULATIONS to all!

Sophia and Nylah dressed up in "fancy" clothes for the celebration!

Mystery Reader - - MRS. CROSS

Penelope knew RIGHT AWAY that our Mystery Reader as going to be her Mom!  Not sure which clue gave it away?  Was it that she enjoys chopping things and helping prep for meals?  Or that she can surf, but not snowboard?  Either way, we really enjoyed having her come and read to our class! THANKS AGAIN!
